About 10 years ago, I gave my wife a wrist watch as a gift to commemorate my retirement. She used it for a while, but decided to leave it in her room worrying she might lose it. Then, she needed to use the wrist watch again for the part time job she started, so she looked for the watch where it was kept. However, the watch was no longer there.
Five years later, when we were moving out of the house we looked for it everywhere, but couldn't find it then either. During April of last year, I decided to use a pouch my wife was going to throw away since it was just the right size. When I looked inside, I found the lost watch. Since it hadnft been used for over ten years, the battery was dead. We took it to a clock shop and had the battery exchanged, but when I looked at the watch the next day I noticed the time was lagging. I took it to the clock shop once again, but was told the clock needed oil and mending it would cost over 1/3 of the actual price of the watch itself. After discussing the matter with my wife, I decided to take home the watch as is and placed it on top of a drawer placed under the household altar.
Later in the morning of May 18th, 2014, I set the watch on time and left the house to participate in the Ascension Festival of Kyososama held at Mt. Manju-san. I returned home feeling refreshed from worshipping at Mt. Manju-san and decorated the alcove with the flowers I received from the festival. After that I went to pray to the household altar.
I casually looked at the wrist watch I had placed on top of the drawer. The watch was ticking on time without lagging! I left the house in the morning after setting it on time and even after few hours had passed, the watch maintained to be on time. It is still working fine now.
I am thankful from the bottom of my heart to have received a miracle of inanimate object.
