Kyobosama,
Kyososama's wife, was born in the mountainous Nagano Prefecture, in Japan,
on 23 June 1906. Her family, the Miyashitas, traces its roots to Prince
Oyamamori, who lived in the third century. Prince Oyamamori was the second
son of the 15th Emperor Ojin, and a grandson of Emperor Chuai and Empress
Jingo. Since her childhood, Kyobosama wanted to be the kind of person who
could help other people. After marrying, Kyobosama realized that Kyososama
was the great Savior and pleaded with him to start a religion to save humanity.
Kyososama accepted her request and founded Shinreikyo. Since the founding,
Kyobosama has devoted all her energies to helping people and to developing
the Shinreikyo organization. Kyobosama is spiritually united with Kyososama,
who was 15 years old when Kyobosama was born. At the time of her birth,
Kyososama, who was thousands of miles away on Shikoku Island, said, "Just
now, the woman destined to become my wife was born." Before and during World
War II, when Kyososama sent petitions opposing the war to Japan's leaders,
Kyobosama took on many of the responsibilities - from editing to publishing
- in her desire to save people and the nation. In spite of strict speech
control, Kyososama and Kyobosama were not arrested or imprisoned. Kyobosama
has always worked as one with Kyososama, and even after the founding of
Shinreikyo she was always at Kyososama's side in her endeavors to save people.
Today, as the spiritual leader of Shinreikyo, Kyobosama continues to work
in divine unity with Kyososama.
