| During April of 2009, I caught a cold where my throat became sore to a point I lost my voice. By mid-April I was suffering from an indescribable chillness and numbness on my hands and feet. I visited a nearby hospital with my husband and was told I had a cold. On April 25th, I was struck by a severe headache, diarrhea, and vomiting. On top of all this, I was beginning to see everything in double. My hands and feet were losing strength, to a point I could no longer stand up nor walk by myself. I went to get it checked at the hospital again. This time they told me a diagnosis of Peripheral neuropathy, Guillain-Barre syndrome was suspected. I was introduced to a specialized hospital. As a result of the exam, I found out the cause of Guillain- Barre syndrome, a disease caused by increase of proteins that are responsible for immune disease, was caused by a very high number of spinal fluid proteins. My parents and I had established the holy connection with Shinreikyo since I was young; however, I only participated in the regular service once in a while. I was overly confident in myself and had a selfish attitude towards the Shinreikyo faith. With this happening, I reflected back on my attitude and constantly chanted the holy word within my heart. My husband, a non-follower, went by the Shinreikyo headquarters almost every day to deliver me holy water. By drinking lots of holy water I was receiving the Divine Light. Later, I was told by the doctor that, “Your Guillain- Barre syndrome had been cured!” I was filled with gratitude and I thanked Kyososama from the bottom of my heart. Since I still lacked the strength in my hands and feet, along with the remaining numbness and my body feeling heavy, I visited the Shinreikyo center to request for a separate membership certificate to better my health. After my request, my body began to recover in an instant where my body that felt heavy began to lighten. Before I knew it, I was able to move my hands and feet freely. I am now living a healthy and pleasant life style. |
